July 5 K Race

Saturday was the monthly 5k race. Trent got a new bike for his birthday, so we let him and Haylee ride their bikes this time, which they loved. So, Dave and I started off walking, but Dave didn't like being left behind, so we took off running with the double jogger and Trent on his bike. Trent was a real speed racer. We had a couple crashes too, but nothing too major.
I was so excited because we made a really good pace. I finished in 28:55 this month!!! I was really hoping to make it under a half hour and with Dave's help, I did!!! That is almost 4 minutes better from April when I ran it.
So, here is Haylee crossing the finish line.
Here we all are in our 5k race shirts and after we have rested up a little bit.
I love that we are able to do these every month. I am so grateful the gym holds these. I think it is really building a great foundation for the kids as well as allowing them to look forward to something exciting like a race. I love seeing their face exhausted but so pleased each month as they cross the finish line. It is the best thing ever!

7th Anniversary

Yesterday was our 7th Anniversary. It feels like we were both just married and have been married forever. So here we are in July of 2001 getting married.
Here are some fond memories from our honeymoon. I loved going to Disney for our honeymoon and I especially loved that we could see the evening fireworks from our hotel room.
Okay, so after being married for 7 years we have become such and old boring married couple. So, Dave decided that he was going to get World of Warcraft for us to play together fresh from the start. So, we have been playing almost nonstop for about a week. For our anniversary, I bought the expansion pack. And what did we do all day for our anniversary? Play World of Warcraft lol.
Dave went all out and bought another video camera as an "us" gift since ours broke. I really wanted another one to tape my fitness classes so I can get better.
And then what would be an anniversary without jewelry. I love it. So he got me pearl/diamond ring and earrings to match. They are beautiful!

Okay, so when we were first engaged, Brian and Tina (Dave's brother) had just celebrated 7 years. I felt like at that time that 7 years was an eternity. I couldn't believe they made it that long and still loved each other. (I was only 18 who had not had any serious relationships when I started dating Dave, what did I know?) Well, now that we are at 7 years and they are at 14, I feel like 14 is an eternity, but 7 feels like a blink of an eye. So, this is us,
4 kids and 7 years later still in love.

Growing up

It has been a while since I have posted twin photos. I took a few the other day. Naked, as they always are in the summer time. They seem to be growing up so fast these days and really picking up on a ton of things. So, here they are on one of the few occasions that they get to watch tv. They are watching Baby Einstein of course.
Laycee is loving on a pillow. She didnt want to share.
Haylee pushed her way up there and Laycee finally let her.
She loves Baby Einstein. Logan was off playing ball in the hall, so I didn't get too many pictures of her. Loni, I think Laycee looks like she belongs in your family lol.
Special moment. They are both laying there and loving it. Of course Baby Einstein is still playing.
Close up
They are finally starting to pick up new words too and they are both teething again. Logan only has 6 teeth... 4 on top, 2 on bottom. Laycee had 6 on bottom now. And 8 on top.

Logans Words- Mama, Dada, "doll" for ball, Eww, uh oh, stinky, "was tis?" Whats this or whats that?, bup for cup, hi, bye, uce for juice. Most of these I say and he immitates though. And he recently starting being able to point to my eyes and nose when I ask.

Laycee's Words- Mama, Dada, doll, eww, uh oh, up for cup, hi, bye. She still only walks on her knees although this week she has braved her feet a little bit. And she sings really pretty.

So, thats our latest update with the babies. They are almost 18 months, so we will have their 18 month check ups soon!

Trent Turns 5

Yesterday was Trent's 5th Birthday. I didn't plan anything, but we were going to the pool with some friends so I bought a present for each of his friends to give to him and we sang happy brithday and ate cupcakes. I know it was so last minute, but Trent was really happy about it. Then when we got home, Dave brought home a big surprise. A new bike. Perfect for the 5k race!!

Not just a Fluke

Well I guess I really learned my lesson this time. The other night we put Logan to bed naked thinking that his previous diaper removal was a fluke. Well, that won't happen again. He will now wear onsies ever time. I am just thankful he didn't paint the walls. But he sure did love making a mess and peeing in Laycee's bed. What a sick child!

Portugal

Dave recently went to Portugal for work. While there, they let them sitesee a little too. Here are some of the pictures he took. Unfortunately, I don't know what any of the pictures are of, but it is cool to see another country.

Funny Things Haylee Says

Haylee has an amazing memory. I don't know how she remembers so much. Every once in a while, she just can't quite recall though. So today, she was giving me a lesson on the human body. (I have been having a lot of lessons lately, on reptiles, dinosaurs, and sharks to name a few). This is what she says...

Mom, I know that your nose and ears don't have bones. (really haylee?) Yup, your ears have cottage.

I was thinking that cottage only sits in my butt lol. I corrected her and told her it was cartilage. She says, yeah that is a hard word to say.

Haylee is amazing, even with her little mixups.

Playgroup

On Wednesdays, early developmental services hosts a free playgroup for children newborn-6. Usually I don't go because the babies just weren't old enough, but now that Logan is walking, I thought he might like it. Laycee hates it. It is too noisy for her. But, here are some of the pictures Nancy and I took while we were there.

So Cute!

The other day Logan brings me this dog backpack/leash that I used on Haylee and Trent. Anyway, I put it on him and he didn't take it off the rest of the day. He loved it!

4th of July

For the fourth, we went to a promotion bbq for Dave and the other guy who got promoted. Here are the kids all dressed for the 4th.
Darn Trent!
On Post, they had rides for the kids, food, and entertainment.
And what do you know? I was part of the entertainment. We showed off the new Body Jam coming to post Aug 2008, and Body Combat.

The kids stayed for the fireworks while we took the babies home. We could see them from the house though. They were great as always! Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July.

New Favorites

Cell Phones are the babies new favorite toy. Thankfully, we have 4 play phones from when Haylee and Trent loved phones. Laycee especially loves to pick up the phone and "sing to dada". I will try and get video of it one day. But here is Logan, checking out his phone.

And here is Laycee after she stole the phone from Logan.

Promotion

Yesterday was Dave's promotion. YEAH!! Pictured from Left to right is Dave, SGT Burton who was also getting promoted, and then the commander. They are reading SGT Burton's orders here.
Dave wanted me to stick on his new rank, so this is while they are reading his orders.
Here is after I changed over his rank.
Sorry I didn't get better pictures. My camera woman was not so hot and she said that I went too fast. She offered to stage it so we could get better pictures, but I wasn't too worried about it. It was the first time I had been to or seen one of these and I am so proud of Dave. He is finally part of the NCO club!

Pudding

The babies were finished with lunch the other day, but I was still busy, so I had to come up with something to keep them a little bit happy. So, I decided on pudding. They LOVED it!

Needless to say, I think I created more work for myself, but at least I got some smiles.
