Silly Boy

I absolutely love seeing him smile. He is cute... oh wait, he corrects us, he is handsome lol. Oh how they start learning gender specfic words so young. So, at baseball one day, he was again mad he didn't get to play so mom helped him find some fun with his hat.
He won't let us call him cute, but he will put a "pony tail" on his head lol.
This didn't keep his interest for too long, but it helped some. I was really happy that he was no longer crying that he couldn't play with the big kids and was so lucky to see his big huge smiles! What can I say? He's pretty cute!

Opening Season

The kids had an opening ceremony day. It was long and exhausting, but we made it through. They had a parade, pictures, and a game. Here are some pictures and video footage from the first game.

This is the beginning of the National Anthem... would have been the whole thing but my camera ran out of room lol. Anyway, I always tear up when I hear the national anthem thinking of all the men, women, children, and soldiers who have given their time and efforts to helping us keep our civil liberties. Even at baseball games, we are reminded of how special a country we live in.

This is Haylee's first hit! She did awesome!

Mixed Martial Arts

The beginning of March Trent started a mini martial arts class. I blogged the pictures of it a few weeks ago, but here is some live footage of his conquests!

I am not much of one for agression and I don't let the kids rough house too often. When they do, it is generally called "daddy time" becuase Dave gets in on it. I give them 15 minutes while I am in the other room and then it is done lol. I know, bad mothering but I just can't handle it. So this seems to be a perfect place for him to get out his aggression while Dave is gone. He seems to like this over traditional sports as well... so we will see what the future holds for him.

Awards

The third quarter of school came and went. An awards ceremony again took place. This time Trent was so excited to get the Roadrunner award. He was so happy to finally get an award!!
Haylee was lucky this quarter. She got Outstanding Citizen award. Her teacher adores her because she is so sweet and willing to help. Her teacher said she never gives two awards but Haylee deserved it.
She also got Honor Roll. She is such a hard worker!
I am proud of both the kids since they had such a hard adjustment when we first moved here. In addition, this coming Wednesday, Haylee is getting an award from an independent company for her scholastic achievement and moral character. More to come on that later.

Bike Riding

This is mostly for Dave to see, if he can stream it, but to those of you out there that are interested... Laycee can officially ride her bike by herself. My mom said that she noticed her doing it a while ago, but when I took this video (about a month ago) this was the first saw her ride it by herself using the pedals and not Flintstone style. I love watching them get older and learn all these fun new skills!

Put me in coach...

Well you have to forgive my newess on this program. I tried making a collage, but this one is less than desirable... lesson learned! Anyway, the kids started baseball at the beginning of March. Wow, how time flies. They started off a little rough, but they are both really loving it. This is their second year of coach pitch, but the league here is serious so they get lots of practice and lots of games. The only downside is listening to Logan cry the whole time that he doesn't get to play... one day I tell him, one day.

Spring Break

Well since we went to Disneyland at the end of February, we were still stuck as to what to do over spring break. Mom and Kevin were itching to get to Las Vegas, so that's where we headed. We stayed at Circus Circus and it was really neat! I have never stayed at that end of the strip so it was fun to see different hotels and venture to new areas of the city. They have completed the shopping center in the middle of the strip since we have been there last. It was a great trip and a nice getaway to keep the kids busy during their week off!

Dance Pictures

Last night, the girls had their dance recitals. These were the pictures they got done the week prior for picture day. Haylee's costume changed by the time the concert came around, but the pictures turned out nice anyway. THis is one of my favorites. She looks so grown up!
I love this one too, but something about the close up.

3rd pose.
Her class, intermediate ballet.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one. I swear it could be a poster.
This one isn't my favorite, but its pretty cute
She is adorable!

Her class, not the greatest, but what can you expect from 2-4 yr olds right? they are at least all looking!

Alice and Wonderland

On day I wanted to take the kids to see Alice and Wonderland 3D, and we invited Loni's kids too.
I wonder if this is what Loni and I looked like as kids...
(Brooklyn and Haylee)
Or was it more like this?
(Brielle, Laycee)
I swear these two should be sisters, I think they look more alike that Laycee and Haylee do.
I am sure it wasn't like this lol
(Logan, Trent, Bryce)
Afterwards, we ran to Target to pick up a few things... why would anyone doe that with 7 kids, I do not know.
While we were in the store, people kept staring and this one lady would not stop staring so mom says really loudly, "Well Lexi, if you wouldn't have kept having twins, this wouldn't be so difficult"... the lady was shocked, thats what she gets for staring! It was a fun day and surprisingly, not too overwhelming.

Soccer Banquet

Shortly after the end of the season, we attended the soccer banquet. They gave out trophies.
Here is their team and 1/2 of the 6-7 yr old league.
Afterwards, they had pizza and on the way home, I puked in the car from a nightmarish migrain. Needless to say, next stop was the ER to stop that horrible migrain. It was by far the worst one I ever had, they gave me some medication for the pain and something to keep me from puking, but when I was on my way home... I puked again. Thankfully on my follow up visit with the doctor, she gave me something that will hopefully prevent visits in future. Lets hope this one works!

Martial Arts

Last month, Trent started a martial arts class. The class is a mixed martial arts, so the two teachers instruct them on moves from several martial arts disciplans. This was his first week and they were working on the hold position I think.
He was matched pretty evenly with this boy here. They were both pretty scrawny, and they both gave their best effort.
Then he got to practice on the dumby. He seems to really enjoy it now after 5 weeks. They are pretty blunt with the boys and all business, but I think Trent loves it. He doesn't much love traditional sports, but he does love this.
I am so glad after several months of debating it, we decided to do this.

Final Soccer Game

So these are long overdue... we have closed the soccer season and are now in full swing (no pun intended) with baseball... but I like to blog all the pictures so one day I can finally make a photobook. So, here they are on their last game at the end of Feb. Trent liked to stand around a lot lol.
There he is, #6 running after the ball.
Haylee LOVES playing goalie, so here she is playing goalie. She played it nearly every game of the season.

Live Action
The soccer season closed out well. They won a lot of games and seemed to really enjoy playing. I think maybe next year, we will sign up again

Disneyland

So... we had every intention of waiting until Spring Break to head to Disneyland, but the hotels were a portion of the cost to go the end of February, so that's what we did. We decided on Sunday and left on Tuesday. It was a fun last minute trip. We got free tickets for volunteering as part of Disney's give a day get a day program. I think the trip over was pretty good, but coming back... kids were puking and whining. Word to the wise, 6 hrs there... one day of fun... 6hrs home, might be too much for little children! It was still a great trip and they all loved Disneyland. Now I just have to talk Dave into going again so he can see their excitement.

Valentines Crafts

Yes I am aware I appear to be blogging the wrong holiday, but I am just that slow. School and the kids take up so much time. So, here is what we did for valentines weekend. My dad was still in town, so we made valentine bags and valentines for one another.

We made a yummy breakfast complimented by Dunkin Doughnuts.
And we shared our love with one another.
I kinda think Valentines can be a lame holiday, but I do like the "excuse" to show each other how much we love one another.

On this Easter Day

I get to sit with my beautiful children, mom and brother,
enjoying a beautiful spring day

Listening to the church leaders testify of Christ and teach us how to be more like him.

I am thankful for all that we have.
