First Ponytail

Sunday was the primary program at church, so I was working on Haylee's hair. Since I was doing hair, Laycee wanted hers done, so I used Pomade and made the best ponytail I could for her.
THen I put in a bow lol.
This is what took me 40 minutes to do! Haylee's hair is so think and using a duel voltage curling iron is never as good. It turned out really pretty, but I don't know if it was worth the time.

Who needs a water table when...

You have a bidet. Okay, I know many people would think this is gross, however, we don't use ours for its intended purpose. We use it as a kid sink instead. The drain needs to be cleaned, so as the kids wash their hands, the bidet fills up. They LOVE to play in the water.

Time Out

I love this picture. Haylee is such a sweet girl and really prides herself on being a peacemaker. However, these last two weeks, she has really proven something different of herself. She is constantly in trouble. I don't know what has come over her. Well, the other day her and Laycee, (yes Haylee and Laycee, I swear) were fighting. So they both got a talking to and had to stand in the corner. I thought it was so cute seeing the two of them in Laycee's favorite corner. Laycee kept scooting closer to Haylee to try and get some confort from her, but Haylee was not budging. I hate getting angry at the kids, but since we have had the twins, it really is hurmorous when they are in trouble becuase they do some of the funniest things. Of course we hold in the laughs until they can't see us. LOL

Potty Training?

You see that right. Laycee is in panties. But I don't think I am ready to potty train yet. She got a really bad diaper rash, so I have been letting it air out, but she peed on the floor 4 times. To me, that is not ready.
So one time, I went to clean up the mess and left the towel while I went to get her a new pair of underware, and I found her trying to put on the towel like a diaper lol. It was so funny.
Today, she actually peed in the potty. So instead of potty training, I am just introducing her to it. But Logan, has another year before we even think about it I bet. He is so not a go getter. We will see. With any luck, shortly after we move, I will only be buying diapers for one!
Note to my family: Doesn't she look so like Brooklyn in this last picture. I swear Loni, she belongs to you!

Gangsta Laycee Baby

Well, as you have see by now, Laycee LOVES to make faces and make people laugh. She is getting really good where she only breaks character when we are all busting up lol. Anyway, the other night, Dave showed Laycee how to be a gangster. Look what she came up with...
She couldn't help but laugh.
Now, she is mean.
And who doesn't pick their nose? This is her new favorite place for her finger. We have been working on it too lol.
The next day, she showed me again her gangsta sign.
So enough tough girl, here she is all sweet on her baby. She LOVES babies. Baby is her universal word too. It means, blanket, food, toys. Pretty much everything she doesn't have a word for. We just got this stroller. I am gross and someone was throwing it away, but is only needed a little mending to be in good shape. So I took it. And now all the kids do is fight over it.

I put this video on here so you can all hear her talk. Baby followed by whining. That pretty much sums up Laycee's vocabulary lol.

More randomness

I did warn you all that I had a ton of random pictures right? But some of these are really cute. Like one day when Logan thought it was great fun to play in the box of MouseTrap.

And he shared an adorable smile, while watching TV.
Laycee loves close ups, and I don't know why.
Of course, Trent wanted in on the action. (Haylee was at school). So, I set him next to Logan and what do you know? I think I had twins at the wrong time. I can't get over how much Logan and Trent look alike. They are very similar in personality too. Must be our boys. I mean look at them, the same ears, eyes, head shape (yes Amy, Logan has aHUGE head just like Trent did), smile, nose. Everything, I think they look so much alike.
People tell me all the time that Laycee and Logan look alike. I don't see it really. I mean in their eyes, but that is about all. But as soon as they see Logan and Trent together, they really can't get over how much they look alike. Seriously, neither can I.

Aviano

Boy, oh Boy am I behind. SO, I am just getting around to posting pictures from Labor Day! That was 2 weeks ago! Anyway, sorry for the delay. For Labor Day, we went to Aviano. They were hosting a church activity up there that we were invited to. Since it is a 2-3 hour drive, we all elected to drive up Sunday night and stay the night. Dave was on call, so I left him home with the twins and Haylee, Trent, Nancy, Jaron and I drove up to Aviano. We couldn't get a hotel room, so the Openshaw's let us bunk with them. So we got there Sunday about 4pm and played at the park until everyone else got there.
Trent couldn't get in the swing by himself, so he improvised.
Haylee was sick after this over and over, in fact, she almost threw up!
The boys enjoyed the teeter totter.
After that, we had dinner at the food court and I did some shopping. Time was limited, but I made time for shopping because I seriously needed some clothes that fit. Aviano is larger than here, so it was nice to see a larger selection of clothing. The next morning, we had breakfast at the Openshaws, and off to the activity. Haylee was excited to play volleyball!
Nancy and I headed back home about Jaron's nap time. And it took us 4 hours to get home because they closed the autostrada (tolled freeway). Thankful we had the GPS, but we really didn't use it. We just used our sense of direction and eventually found our way. Traffic was horrendous, but all it all, it was a nice holiday.

Some moving news

Well it is not secret (hence the ticker on my sidebar) that we have less than 6 months here in Italy. I am excited, but as a result have been somewhat anxious about where we are going next. Dave and I have been checking back often to see if he has a duty assignment yet, and no luck there. So, he wrote his branch manager to see what our options are. Well, the branch manager gave us three potential spots. Of course, if you know the military, nothing is set in stone until Orders are in hand (and not always then either), which will still be several months. But... drum roll please... our potential new duty stations are
1. Ft. Lewis Washinton...
Yes in the Tacoma Washington area
(My brother is currently serving his mission there).
2. Ft. Gordon, GA
3. Ft. Hood, TX
So, we are leaning away from Hood lol. But really don't know about either of the other two. Both are set to deploy after we get there, but Gordon has shorter deployments. So, if any of your military blog readers out there could help us have more knowledge about any of the three, we would be greatful! Be on the lookout in the next few months for a final decision too.

It's Autumn Time...

It's autumn time, it's autumn time, the leaves are falling down.

It's autumn time, it's autumn time, bright colors can be found.

(children's songbook)

Recently, Jessica posted on her blog all about fall. Everyone contributed what some of their favorite things about fall. Well it has been a rather mild summer here. Only about 2 hot weeks. But, there hasn't been much rain either. Two days ago, it decided to pour and not stop. So, me and my very painful neck curled up into bed with a book and chicken soup in a mug and had a wonderful fall day. It is cold and we were not prepared, but I hope that the weather stays this way. I love the change in season!

Logan Post: Spoiler

Okay, so I was doing all of my posting one day and ran out of time, so the Logan post I was working on was saved, but never posted. I finally finished it, but it still posted in the order it saved. SO.... be sure to check it out. He is babbling and singing the ABCs, so it is a good one. And be on the lookout for a few more posts, one of these days when I get back around to posting.

Random Pics

So I uploaded all my pictures this morning. Over 120 since I have blogged last. What was I thinking? So, I am looking through it all and they are totally just random pictures. So, for the next few days, it will be mostly random pictures on here. So here are a few!

Logan Post

It's been a while since I have done a dedicated post, so this one is for Logan. He is learning so many new things and such a sweet boy. So, here are a few cute pics of him and then a few videos.

Logan babbles like this all day long. I swear he things I understand him or something.

He now sings the ABC. This isn't a great video of it becuase he was distracted by his cracker, but you can get the point. He sings ABC all day long now.

1st Day of School

As you all have guessed, school started. I know for many of you, it started SEVERAL weeks ago. The kids here started really really late this year. So, Haylee's first day of school was the 26th. Two days of school and then already a holiday. Trent's first day is today! Trent had his kindergarten orientation on the kid's first day of school. So here he is in front of his class.

Thankfully Kirra and Haylee are in the same class. I came to learn that they just let the kids off their bus and it is up to them to find their class. Well, they haven't had and open house. So Haylee just ran into Kirra and they showed her the way. I forgot my camera, so I am glad Terrilee was being a good mom for me.
This is Haylee coming home from her first day of school. I think she had a lot of fun, but she loves school. Thanks for the outfit mom! It made a perfect first day of school outfit.
So then today was Trent's first day. Kindergarten starts a week late because they are required to do home visits. I am used to the home visits from Sure Start for Haylee and Trent. But basically, all they do is come in and answer questions one on one and make the connection with the child. It is weird having a stranger come into your home, but it really is a nice way to start to build the trust between the parent, teacher, and child. Anyway, so his first day is today. Here they are at the bus stop. Yes, it is at the city bus stop.
Here are the kids getting on the bus. We live in an Italian home, but the block over, there is a governement leased apartment for officers, so there are a few kids that ride the same bus as us.

I was happy to put the kids on the bus, but now the house feels a little lonely without Trent hovering over me asking when he can play the Wii. Last year, I was happy to send them both off to school, Haylee for Kinder and Trent for Sure Start becuase the babies were a handful, but now, I don't know what I am going to do with myself. I guess catch up on reading I suppose.
